Live Q&A and Helpful Resources

Video Chat Text:

Vicki : Me
Kristina : My first Q and A!
Vicki : https://earthheartinc.com/
Vicki : Kristina, cool – all around!
Roxie : not really a new member, but i think its the first q&a i have been able to make it to since we are also basically stuck in our houses in MI! I dont have a mic though (using a desktop) 🙂
Roxie : I do in-home cat photography (or am trying to lol)
Roxie : meowtographer.com
Roxie : also working on putting together an online cat store
Mandi : Trying to figure out web traffic
Mandi : And thank you for your tips
Susan : overwhelmed but optimistic I can sort through it soon
Susan : I read the what will your priorities be in 2019 and it feels hard to pick only one or two to focus on this year.
Sharon J : I’ve just had a bit of an overhaul during January (planned in my head in December) to take the focus off of office dogs, and make it more of a lifestyle training focus… did that, designed new leaflets business cards in new wording etc. Now also looking at increasing traffic to website. Big focus on blog posts, with second focus getting new services launched (https://theofficedog.co.uk/dog-training/)
Roxie : feel like i am making a lot more progress than last year with the freedom roadmap!
Kristina : STRESSSYYY! Trying to create the best business plan and worried about finding funding…
Geneviève Lacombe : I don’t shoot during winter time (January and February). Not because I don’t want to but I don’t have clients… This situation makes it hard to publish on Facebook and blog every week because I have nothing new to show. I need ideas for content and I don’t feel creative in this field. 🙁
Jill : Yes 🙂
Susan : yes
Roxie : definitely
Vicki : I’ve surrendered to starting in February as January 1 hasn’t worked for me. I use January to reflect on what worked and what needs changing. This has been a month of working with roadmap and other tools.
lenorastein : yes, looking forward to starting it
Kristina : I feel like I’m too early of a stag eto use it, NO?
lenorastein : I’m starting from step 1 just to revisit and make sure i don’t miss any tidbits
Vicki : In rebranding, I’ve decided to start with stage 1 as a review…to really get our WHY in place and HOW we can be known as the SAFE aromatherapy company for dogs, humans and horses.
Vicki : FYI: The roadmap is difficult to read when printed out
lenorastein : Jane, how do you print the lessons? I like hardcopies that I get write on.
Vicki : Jane, you are so right about staying in the present moment. I’m recycling notes from last year (or longer) that are SOOO not where I am today, and putting things away that are too far ahead.
Mandi : I’ve noticed Google being much more strict about letting me gmails through as well as my MailChimp. Is it just me or are others seeing this too?
Mandi : So true! It evolves so much!
Mandi : Yes!
Roxie : yes
levesquechantal : Yesss!
Sharon J : Trying to have a priority for each month… January was the change of focus/voice from Office Dogs to Lifestyle Training
allisonshamrell : Jane I have a completely random question for you. Is there any sort of risk/danger in switching websites for an email list? Terran & I are considering taking our Professional Pooch mailing list that’s currently in MadMimi and bringing it over to MailChimp. Is that a bad idea? Anything we should keep in mind?
Sharon J : LOL Actually waiting for a kitchen sink to be fitted…
Susan : yes
lenorastein : My 2019 goal is processes/automation. I plan on creating a monthly goal which is broken down further into weekly/daily baby steps.
Vicki : I recently purchased the book Eat That Frog – 21 great ways to stop procrastinating…. Nothing necessarily new except it helps me put those pain points higher on the to-do list. Hard deadlines help, AND seeing how one project can help launch or complete another related project – i.e. how an interview helps design the flow of webinar slides. Make sense?
allisonshamrell : Ok! Yes, MadMimi is similarly vigilant on purchased lists. Thank you both!!
Geneviève Lacombe : Jane, I posted a question earlier in the chat
Mandi : Hi Vicki! Good to see you here! We have so much in common 🙂 I’ll put that book on my list. Sounds very helpful!
Vicki : One monthly priority is fabulous. It helps design the next year. In another group, we talk every other week and set 2-week goals which has now led us to set a quarterly plan (in hindsight).
Sharon J : Did you see the article I posted on FB group, about Google Ads on a shoestring… Have put up an ad using SKAG.
Jill : Can someone save the chat from today? I missed the first half of the call.
Jill : If it could be emailed or messaged to me that would rock.
lenorastein : I love the helpful topics addition!
Jill : Oh! I forgot about the graphic templates. That is fab.
Jill : Thanks, Jane! 🙂
Jill : As someone who’s been in WWD since the very very beginning, I love the changes and how it’s grown over the years.
lenorastein : Jane, I think Genevieve has a question from earlier.
Susan : when and where are the office hours and workshop dates listed on the website for each month – e.g., for February yet?
Jill : Genevieve – your English is better than a lot of native speakers. Never be shy about talking 🙂
Geneviève Lacombe : @Jill Thank you very much
Nichole Smith : https://blog.petbrandjoy.com/multi-media-content-long-tail-keywords/
Vicki : Do you have SEO suggestions for product manufacturers?
Mandi : Thank you, Jane!
Roxie : thank you!
Jill : Thanks, Jane!
lenorastein : thank you!
levesquechantal : Thank you!

My main reasons for coming here are content ideas, creative ways to improve my [pet] brand, and the one-on-one access I get to top professionals. What I did not expect was the amazing sense of community.
